DSOM Online 2020

DSOM Online journey began at the start of the global pandemic, COVID-19. The conventional way of doing Bible College ceased to exist. We had to find a way to transition quickly amidst growing opposition to the Church and the way in which it operates.

Many full time registered students considered abandoning their studies and taking the armchair approach of doing nothing and waiting for things to resume to normal. Nine months on and normal is far from reality. There is  a new normal, a new reality, another truth that has come to the forefront, Our presumed reality has become a distant memory.

Believers of the Christian faith are left disillusioned. Many are not tech savy and the weak are left hopeless and broken as the challenges hit one after the other, like waves beating against a rock amidst a raging storm. Leaders are discouraged as they scramble to keep their flock together and attempt to keep their boats afloat. Facing financial challenges in an era where Churches operate within government restrictions and the economy is on a downward spiral. A time where there is little to no disposable income in households and unemployment is at its highest in over two decades. Church Leaders bear the brunt of these social problems yet have been completely overlooked by the government and have been categorically stereotyped as “unemployed” during the national lockdown. 

DSOM Online had to deal with all these issues, as their students and leaders experienced these challenges, yet through it all, managed to keep eighty percent of their students enrolled and on track, studying the Word of God in the midst of enduring challenges never before seen in the world.

It is because of DSOM Online persisting and being loyal to the Vision to educate and disciple nations that we can confirm that God has indeed protected our students, leaders, families and finances. There has been no loss to any of the people connected to DSOM Online, Disciple School of Ministry or ISOM SA. This truly is testament to the fact the God is faithful to His Word and proves to be the Divine Protector. 

As DSOM Online moves ahead into 2021, they are committed to the Vision to train and equip nations in Africa, to unite with leaders on the continent, to plant Christian Training Centres in every African nation, mature Believers as they grow in the faith and to get ALL people aligned with their call.
